| As many have noticed, there are severe shortages on the new Intel Core 2 Duo processors. This situation is actually more severe even than has been reported. Price rises in Australia have been by as much as 40% and the amount of stock we have actually received during the lifetime of these CPUs has been minimal. We have only received one shipment of E8200 and E8400 CPUs (totalling less than 10 units each) and are yet to see any E8500 CPUs. In the meantime, we have re-listed the E6550, E6750 and E6850 CPUs. Whether this is a strategy by Intel or distributors to clear out stock of the E6000 series remains to be seen. Whatever the actual reason, this is very very poor form for Intel, and I wanted to apologise to customers for the delays. |
