Notes Regarding Custom-Built Systems

Deposit

We request a 10% deposit on all systems quoted by us or the system builder.  This is to provide a fair confirmation of the order to us, and to prove you are willing to go ahead with the order.  Once your system has been ordered, there is no option to cancel the order, so please be sure that the system is everything you want before placing your order.

Payment

Most people choose to pay systems with Direct Deposit.  The Deposit for the system should be paid as soon as you have received final confirmation which you are happy with from us.  The remainder need not be paid until the system is ready to be despatched.  COD for the remainder is an option if you are in Sydney.

Delivery

We will only use couriers or our own drivers to deliver systems.  We will not send systems through Australia Post.  This means that if you are interstate, there is no option to COD the remainder of the cost of your system.  If in Sydney, we recommend using Personal Delivery where available, as we know our own drivers will handle the system well.

ETA

Our technician now works every day of the week, so the system should be built and tested within a couple of days of the stock arriving.  Systems usually take between 1.5 and 3 weeks (from order to delivery) dependant on stock availability and testing progress.  The order tracking system also allows you to view the stock status of your system to see if a certain item or items are holding up your system build.

Quotes

You can get a quote for a system through our Online System Builder. The quote you receive includes the cost of us assembling and testing the machine.

Onsite Installation

SecretNet does not currently have an option for onsite installation and setup of PCs, however this may change in the future.  At the moment, systems are supplied as boxed.  We will provide all the necessary cables to set up your system.  Software ordered with your system will generally be pre-installed provided you have ordered an operating system, and you should also find the CDs for that software in the motherboard box (or other box) you will receive with your system (containing CDs, manuals, and miscellaneous cables).

With regard to external hardware (ie. modems, printers, scanners, monitors), we do not unpack these items prior to shipping.  This means they are untested, and brand new from the manufacturer.  It also means that drivers for these items may still need to be installed.  All these items should come with their own respective driver CDs.  If your supplied operating system does not support the hardware internally, you will need to use the driver CD to get it up and running.  Monitors should have no problem working out of the box.

Support

SecretNet PCs do not come with any level of software support, however, you are more than welcome to send us an e-mail, and we'll see what we can do.  Phone support is not an option.  SecretNet provides a phone number to be used for warranty cases only where the PC may be rendered unuseable to send us an e-mail.

Warranty

All systems come with a 1 Year Return-to-Base warranty.  This means, if you have a hardware problem with your system, you should contact us and we will arrange with you for a suitable time to drop the machine off at our warehouse.  We will examine the system, repair the fault, and contact you to arrange pick-up.

If you are interstate, please be advised that the system warranty is back-to-base, which means it is your responsibility to have the machine sent back to us in the case of a warranty issue.  Due to this, we currently recommend only purchasing a system if you have some level of local support through friends or family (or your own experience), so problems can be diagnosed locally and we can simply receive the part that is at fault rather than the whole system.

Some components (such as monitors and printers) generally have an onsite warranty through the manufacturer, in which they will arrange for the items to be collected from and returned to you provided you are within a metropolitan area.
