SecretNet Delivery Methods
Personal Delivery (Sydney)
Personal Delivery is available to selected areas in Sydney, and offers the highest level of personal service for delivery.
Specifically setup to cater for users outside the business day (usually 7pm-9pm) and on weekends, Personal Delivery provides a
convenient method for delivery and payment (COD is available).
Couriers Please (Sydney)
Couriers Please provide a non-direct Courier service that operates within business hours. This means that the driver
despatched from SecretNet will not be the same driver delivering the goods. Couriers Please run a hub-style system of
depots where goods are transferred between drivers before they reach their destination. As such, there is no opportunity
to contact the customer prior to delivery (there is no service for this offered by the company), and we do not have enough
information to accurately predict when the order will arrive. Generally, Couriers Please orders arrived the same
afternoon if sent before 10.30am that morning, or the following morning if sent in the afternoon. Please allow for
orders to run later in the case the Courier may be overworked on that run.
Tracking for Couriers Please is linked from our Order Tracking once the package has been despatched. Please allow for a
short time before anything appears in the tracking.
Important Notes
It is very important to note that if you are not available for delivery when Couriers Please attempt delivery, then the order
will be returned to us at our cost and extra fees will apply for re-delivery. Please only
choose Couriers Please where you are available to receive deliveries during business hours. If you are only available
during business hours on certain weekdays, please specify this in the comment section when completing the form, and the Courier
will not be despatched until the afternoon prior to that day (to ensure arrival on that day).
Cash on Delivery is no longer available for Couriers Please as of the 1st of August, 2005.
You must supply a home or office address for Couriers Please. They can not deliver to a Post Office box. If the order
is going to a company address, please be sure to fill in the company's name in the Company section on the order form.
TNT Express (Outer NSW and Interstate)
TNT Express is an Australia-wide freight service. Due to the size of the network and number of external contracts TNT have
to ensure nation-wide delivery, there is no COD option on this service. Delivery is attempted during business hours, and
usually in the morning. If you are not home for delivery, a card is left requesting you contact TNT to arrange either an
alternate delivery time, address, or to arrange pick-up from the depot with other ID.
Tracking for TNT Express is linked from our Order Tracking once the package has been despatched. Please allow for 12 hours
before anything appears in tracking. If the goods are not scanned by the pick-up driver, there may be no tracking available
until they are onboard a truck in your area for delivery.
Delivery Process
- Goods arrive in stock
- If payment has not been received by this time, an e-mail is despatched and we await payment
- The goods are despatched in the next Courier run
- The goods generally arrive within 1-14 days, depending on the remoteness of your location. Most capital cities should
receive their parcels within 1-3 days.
Important Notes
You must supply a home or office address for TNT Express. They can not deliver to a Post Office box. If the order is
going to a company address, please be sure to fill in the company's name in the Company section on the order form.
If goods are being delivered to a school, university, or college with their own postcode (ie. 0200), please specify the postcode
of the surrounding suburb instead (ie. 2600).
Allied Express (Outer NSW and Interstate)
As of February, 2005, we are now using Allied Express for selected services. These include Australia-wide satchel services for
small orders, as well as Road Express and Overnight Express services for bulkier/larger orders. Delivery for this service is
during business hours.
At the time of writing, we are still arranging for tracking information to be available publically for these orders. When
available, it will be linked into the site's tracking features so you can track the progress of your goods whilst in transit.
Please note that whilst delivery of goods to metropolitan areas in all states is fairly quick, there may be some delays (up to a
week) for orders delivered to rural locations via Allied Express.
Important Notes
You must supply a home or office address for Allied Express.
Express Post
Express Post is now offered to all customers for non-bulky goods. Express Post is delivered via Australia Post's priority
delivery network. In most capital cities, Australia Post is delivered to your door, however, in some cases where delivery is not
possible or in remote locations, Australia Post may leave the goods at the local Post Office with a card in the mail advising to
collect from your Post Office.
Please note that Express Post is not guaranteed to be next day to most areas. In remote or distant
areas from Sydney, there have been recorded delays of beyond 2 business days.
Standard and Registered Post
Pre-paid orders going out via Post are sent by either standard post, or if the order value is greater than $100, then via
Registered Post. Depending on your local Post Office, the goods may be delivered to your door, or may be held at the local
Post Office for collection (and a card sent in the mail). In both cases, you may or may not be required to sign for the
items. In some cases, orders may even be left in the letterbox if in a small enough package (some RAM can be delivered this
way), so it's a good idea to keep an eye out for the postman if you're expecting a small item in the mail.
Australia Post COD
Australia Post COD items are held at your local Post Office for collection. A card is sent in the mail letting you know that
there is a parcel waiting to be collected at your local Post Office for $xx value. In some cases (unfortunately quite
common), various Post Offices neglect to send out the initial COD notice when they receive the item, and only send notices a week
after the product has arrived. If your order has taken 7 days or greater and you're in a capital city, or 14 days or
greater and you're in a remote region, I would recommend contacting your local Post Office, and giving them your name/address to
see if they have any parcels waiting for you. You will receive 3 notices that there is an item waiting for collection.
After this, the package is sent back to us at our cost. Penalties may apply for orders received back to SecretNet under
these conditions. In such a case where events beyond your control cause an order to have to be cancelled after it has been
despatched, we would be most appreciative if you could go to your local Post Office and pay the postage for the package to be sent
back to us as soon as possible.
Delivery Costs
Delivery costs are automatically calculated by our Web site. To receive an estimate on the cost of delivery through your
order, simply add the items you would like to a shopping cart, view the cart, and enter your postcode in the Delivery Cost
Estimation section below the cart. This will give you an overview of costs associated with each delivery and payment
method.
General Notes
It is important to note that SecretNet is not setup for same-day or next-day deliveries by nature. We do our best to have
orders despatched as soon as possible, but we will not sacrifice our efficient and organised nature and other orders to get a
single order out the same day. We have very limited resources, and simply can not offer a level of service that specialises
in express delivery.
Post and Courier runs usually happen every day now, and sometimes multiple times a day, with the exception of when certain staff
are on holidays, in which case Post will only go out every 2-3 days, and Courier once a day at most.
Any cheques for COD delivery should be made out to 'SecretNet'.
Entertainment Post is a discounted rate for SecretNet Excitement items, and items are sent via Standard Post.
